Why having energy efficient lighting is important
Installing energy-efficient lighting is a no-brainer when it comes to reducing your power bills. Compact fluorescent (CFL) and light emitting diode (LED) lamps are now available at prices that compete with older incandescent and halogen bulbs, but last 10 times as long and use a quarter of the power. The light bulb we've all known for years. Incandescent bulbs are inexpensive to buy, but most of the energy they consume is turned into heat rather than light and they don't last very long compared with modern bulbs.
Get these replaced as soon as possible, particularly in areas where the lights are used a lot such as living rooms and kitchens.
